Hello Roy,

I'm very fortunate not to live in poverty, but my disposeable income is
very limited. I am however managing to save a little every week towards a
new radio and I have persuaded myself that a 2m/70cm FM mobile is worth the
additional wait. People offer me more old computers than I have space for,
so I'm sure that's not a sound way to evaluate someone's income.

RW> Rather than look for a new rig, why not look for a used rig.
    > It'd save you a lot of agony.

Because I don't have the equipment required to test or align used radio
equipment, and because I have been let down by various used gear in the
past, I have been hoping for a new radio. Given my limited funds though, I
will consider used equipment if I'm assured it works and if it's
significantly more affordable than new gear.

Thanks for your suggestions Roy.

  - Andy, KB9YLW
