On the 3COM driver disk there should be a replacemnet for the original
Monitor that came with 3.11. I have a Compaq Prosignia where I work and we
just finished changing the network from Token Ring to Ethernet and replaced
the TR card with a 3COM 3C589 EISA ethernet card. On the floppy I found in
the 3.11 directory for Novell servers an updated Monitor. I did not replace
it at first until, like you, I tried to probe the server for LAN stats with
the original Monitor and the server came to a screaching halt. Thankfully I
was working a night after all other personal went home :)
