Probably does, but none of my downlinks have requested them, so I don't at
present carry them. And my system can distinguish between the two.

Even if a system has 200 downlinks, it's very unlikely that all 200 will
want every echo. I'd suspect that out of 200, on average you'd maybe get
50-100 that want any given area.
