Hello Maurice. 15 Sep 03 04:01, you wrote to me: MK> Hello Mike. MK> 15 Sep 03 00:34, you wrote to me: MM>> Hmm, strange, I've never had that problem before .. A "ls" yeilds: MK> -r--r--r-- 1 ensemble ensemble 10240 Sep 15 06:06 MK> ensemble.qwk MK> Notice the file permissions. It will just sit there for awhile, why you 'get ensemble.qwk' it starts packing all the mail for you, zips it up, and then when that's all done, it sends it. unfortunately it seems to do it slower than when you log into the BBS ... I'm going to try turning the 'prepack' flag on for you... we'll see where that leads :) The file permissions are like that, because the file doesn't actually exist. It's just a virtual link. MK> I also notice a directory called main with a subdirectory called MK> "UPLOAD". Is that where the reply file goes? I never checked to see MK> whether or not I could actually upload anything. Nope, the .rep file will go in the same directory you download the .qwk file from. once the server receives it, it will immediately be unpacked, and your messages posted. MM>> Nope, you shouldn't need to compile lrzsz, as FTP should work MM>> fine .. give it another shot, if it fails, please paste the error MM>> message you get .. I don't have the port blocked at all (port 21) MM>> and I just tried it myself .. it worked :P MK> It works ... sort of. I got further then I did yesterday. :-) And, if you're willing to give it one more shot, you should be able to get all the way today :) .. you just need to be patient with the 'get ensemble.qwk' command, as it has to run through all the actions of scanning, and packing, and compressing before it will begin to send.. that's the reason it appears to 'hang'.
