I have yet to see stainless steel rust anywhere close to non-stainless steel. The only other metal that I have seen on cars that holds up very well against rust is aluminum. By looking under my car, I can see drastic differences between the different type sof metal material used on the cars. I'm still using the original muffler on my 2002 Monte Carlo - which is stainless steel. The pipe joins after the converter are rusted to nothing now, but the muffler is still hanging in there and looks good. Part of the frame looks to be aluminum and looks practically brand new. Looking at the body panels, parts are rusting like crazy. I have noticed the same thing on the 2001 Durango. Certain parts just rust and fall apart and others don't - or at least not even close to as bad. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.51* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 203/0 633/267 280 640/384 1384 712/620 848 770/1 @PATH: 261/1304 1 266/512 140/1 221/0 1 203/0 640/384 712/848 633/267 |
