RT> And the offer is. Any Hayes Accura/Optima 28.8/33.6 modem can be
RT> traded in for a Hayes 56k modem, for free. You must have a 28.8 or 33.6
RT> though. I've never heard of an offer from them about any
RT> trade-ins on 14.4 modems.
You need to go re-read their WWW site. *ANY* modem can be traded in - yes,
your 300 baud doorstop - yes my wife's 1200 baud internal - yes, ANYTHING.
Plus, if it is a Hayes product that you are upgrading they will take off an
additional $10. Sooooo... my wife's full-length internal Hayes 1200 goes out
tonight (I got my return authorization number within 24hrs of placing my
order on the WWW site) and a 56k Accura internal will arrive within two
eks.
Other Accura models are available at higher costs (the external is slightly
more than the internal, the business version is the most expensive).
Like Lee, I'm not so worried about which 56k technology is in the Accura or
if I can/will ever use it. The Accura will be a major upgrade at a minor
cost. According to the Hayes website the modem will be upgradable for free
to the ITU 56k standard, so eventually this new modem will be standardized
