`W> What a marvelous idea!!! I bought a bunch of National Geographics (old
>ones) that were suposed to have "Map Supplements" thinking that I'd get
some
>decent sized wall maps for our own Geography study. Boy, was THAT a
mistake
>The maps are only the size of a single page, and not very well done.
Sigh..
>They are SO expensive in the learning stores though!!!
Have you tried looking at thrift stores? I've been in a couple stor
es that have maps in a shoe box. They're no more than 50 cents each!
When we were getting National Geographic we saved all the old maps.
After several years I got rid of them. We never looked at
them after the first time. (Of course, this was pre-children days.)
I gave them to my SIL, who is a 4th grade teacher. She snapped them up
and still uses them in school.
(I purchased our large wall map at Costco about 2 years ago for about 10
dollars. US on one side, world on opposite. Good investment!)
