by your reasoning OS/2 captured a larger share than MacOS did too yet it
never even came close to the penetration level of Mac.

That's not what I said, what I said is your claim is not honest. You make a
claim similar to claiming that Pirelli tires are outselling goodyear tires
in retail and that this somehow means there are 10 million Pirelli tire
owners.
