There ain't no such thing as a JDBC driver manager.....it's all done via
URLs. Do you register all the web pages you browse with a "Web Page
manager"? All you need is the jar on the classpath & 2 strings
(classname & DB URL).....(4 if you want to pass in name & pw as
well).
OK to recap ..you need:
A) the driver file (zip or jar usually) B) This file needs to be in the
classpath of the app using it (simplest to set it into the global Java
classpath) C) The name of the class (see post to Joe) D) the URL of the DB
(see post to Joe) E) A username & password (that's up to you).
