Well, it's kinda nice out here for Paremedics in PA.  Now, thanks to
ACT-82, we are permanently certified (licensed by another name) and
never need to recert, period.   As for medical command, we must simply
maintain it yearly with our medical directors, while having a minimum of
ACLS, CPR, and 18 con-ed credits of our choosing.  Some courses are
free, while other's aren't..  Most area squads will have a
squad-sponsored ACLS or PHTLS course every now and them which we can
attend free.
It really make things better for the paid guys, not relying on a
every-x-year recert systenm to keep our jobs.
