Hi Steve!
Thanks for your input on the echo future.
-> BTW, how long have you been running AUDIO? I remember
-> reading it in 1988 while in college...all that talk
-> about Adcom amps...Thiel loudspeakers...
Well, when I got into AUDIO, which originally was run by someone else,
who had abandoned the echo, so I stepped in as moderator.. I frankly
don't remember when that was, but it seems like it has been about 5
years. Anyone else have the chronology better than I do? That must have
been under the original moderator of this echo, which I have no clue as
to who it was back then.
I've always tried to approach this echo with an "It's not what you use,
it's how you you use it" approach to those who like to try to one up
each other with more and more exotic gear. My feeling about most exotic
gear is, "If it is so damned good, how come audio professionals,
studios, and such don't use it?". I can recall one friend who even
seriously suggested a "passive" preamp of fine wire, rotary controls,
etc., that was going to cost a fortune, yet do virtually nothing of
importance, something many exotic oriented folks will buy all day long.
Thanks for your input, Steve, and thanks for hanging in there with us!
