70cm gets me onto IRLP, which gives me a way to talk to hams in the U.S.
and Canada (and hopefully people back home in Britain once I get the
paperwork sorted out). I'll also get to talk to some friends who I know
use 70cm and I can benefit from antennae with a lower wind load. Eventually
I look forward to a working HF setup, but even then I plan to keep 70cm
around.

The more hams tell me that, the more comfortable I feel going down that
route. Thanks.
