There used to be an important distinction between Trekkies and Trekkers,
Trekkies being the geeks and nerd swho give fandom a bad name, and
Trekkers, people with real lives who happen to bve fans.

I was of the opinion that anyone who carted enough to learn and insist on
the distinction was, by definition a Trekkie.

Not a popular POV.  I've abandoned it as too fighty.
