I've seen small parakeets. They like to come near my house in the winter
as I keep suet, peanut butter and sunflower cakes out all winter long for
them. I've also seen some of the larger birds out there too.
The jays usually don't come down this far south if they come at all.
Most jays stay north in the winter. Though we've been seeing alot more birds
that usually stay north down here the last few years. We have a surplus of
red headed woodpeckers in our area. In fact we have a pair that comes to the
area near the bus stop for the kids in the morning. The birds tend to use
the metal street lights to clean out their beaks. Odd indeed to see a
woodpecker pecking on the metal street lamp.
                                  Bright Blessings
                                  Kat
