I don't know exactly how the Gulf Oil Spill fits into the overall scheme of
things insofar as God's plans and purposes for the Earth and its people are
concerned, but I do firmly believe that there are no coincidences with God,
and that nothing happens by accident. Call it fate, destiny, karma or
whatever, but I have long believed that God is firmly in control of His
creation.

Having said that, while it is obviously an unpopular position to embrace, I
also believe that God has permitted the oil spill to happen for a reason. If
there is one thing that the Bible makes clear, it is that through our own
pride and foolishness, we sometimes bring God's Wrath and Judgment upon
ourselves. While some instruments of chastisement are brought about through
the Lord's manipulation of the natural forces of the Earth, others are
brought about by our own hand. I suspect that this may be the case with some
of the plagues and woes that are described in the Book of Revelation.
