Joe, I am addressing this to you, since you live in the area, but of 
course, anyone who has info should feel free to answer. 
Has anybody heard that the City of San Diego is looking to contract out 
their 9-1-1 service? The way I heard it, and I have not been able to 
verify this, the city wants to contract out the 9-1-1 answering service, 
at least partially due to the drop off in call volume for EMS related to 
the increased use of alternate phone numbers by HMOs. Can anyone verify 
or debunk this? Thanks for any help.
