I think  that Sci Fi network also got more input to it thn they probably were due.

The Shadows 2.0 points to Sci-Fi channel saying "Screw the Drakh. 
They weren't scary enough and they're *sooooo* Crusade/Five Minutes Ago. 
We wantsomething new, something wow.  A big, Epic enemy like the
Shadows!"

jms: "But the Shadows are done.  This story is about how people cope
with the left overs of the elder races-"

Sci-Fi Channel: "You want to make this thing or not?"

jms:  "From the dim reaches of time, a fearful enemy, spoken of only
in rumors. begins to reach forth..."

SFC: "Now *that's* what I'm talkin' about."

jms: "please shoot me."

The Shadows 2.0 were that kind of dumb.

And I don't know.  if someone offers me tens of thousands of dollars to
write the Aventures of Col Flagg and his Time Commandoes, I'll do it.  But
you won't be seeing my best work.
