San Jose Hypnotist explains the mystical powers of "The Force."

David Barron, Certified Master Hypnotist and owner of Changeworks
Hypnosis, explains the mystical nature of "The Force" and many of it?s
underlying principles can be understood in terms of Hypnosis and the
science of Neuro Linguistic Programming.

Many of us are familiar with "The Force" in Star Wars and all the
amazing feats of apparent magic that Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Obi
Wan
Kenobi were able to perform. Luke was able to "Use the Force" to
accurately target the Imperial Death Star. Ben Kenobi was able to use
"The Jedi
Mind Tricks" to confuse the Imperial Storm Troopers while Darth Vader
was able to sense the weaknesses of those who opposed him. Were all
the mystical powers of The Force the mere fantasy of it?s creator George
Lucas or is there some basis in fact for these phenomena?

David Barron claims that all these examples of The Force can be found in
our understanding of the human mind. "USE THE FORCE LUKE" were
the words Luke heard when targeting the Death Star. According to David
Barron, this phenomenon of auditory hallucination, was Luke?s
unconscious intuition making itself known. "Not everyone hears a voice
as clearly as Luke did." Says Barron, "but we?ve all had these moments
of
clarity, gut feelings, that we know we should trust and this can be
greatly improved with hypnosis."

Obe Wan Kenobi?s ability to confuse the Imperial Storm Trooper by merely
tossing a few short words may be an oversimplification of what
Barron calls "indirect suggestions". "The founder of modern
hypnotherapy, Dr. Milton Erickson was a master of this." According to
Barron, "He
was able to give suggestions to people without them being aware of it
and get incredibly effective results."

"Darth Vaders uncanny ability to sense the weaknesses in his victims is
an excellent example of sensory acuity and rapport skills" according to
Barron. "Sensory acuity is the ability to be acutely aware of subtle
responses and behavior of people. Rapport doesn?t mean someone likes
you, it
simply means someone is responsive to you, and this was certainly true
of Darth Vader."

Real life example of this skill is modern "Fortune Tellers" who are able
to "Divine" specific information about a person?s life by careful
observation a process often called "Cold Reading".

"Among some of the other parallels of The Force and hypnosis are they
both requires going into an altered state of self-hypnosis. A Jedi
knight
wielding his light-saber, or any athlete can use hypnosis to slow down
their perception of time and thus speed up their responses. While using
The Force, Luke Skywalker saw into the future, a nice tool that
hypnotists call "time lining" and is used to rehearse skills for future
use." says
Barron.

"While it?s true, hypnosis may not be able to help you levitate your
dramatically increase your resourcefulness, in dealing with people, in
managing everyday stress, and increasing your creativity in solving
problems."
