Well, I'm just afraid rec.audio.opinion may already cover a lot of
that, argument ridden as it is at times. Perhaps a mailing list would be the
best way to go. It would keep traffic down more so than a full fledged
newsgroup, allow a more close-knit atmosphere, and make FIDO porting back and
forth much simpler, as well as provide moderation, as you would have to
approve messages on the Internet side (which is the side hardest to control).
That's the problem with newsgroups. If they're unmoderated there's NOTHING
to keep them from spinning out of control. And you can't do a FIDO like
moderation where you just sit back and just deal with out of control problems
because there's no easy way for you to kick people off the newsgroup, like
FIDO allows for. A mailing list COULD be automated with the right script and
yet you could kick people off the mailing list quite easily if neccessary.
