(Continued from previous message)
Their purpose was to find fault in Him, but they could not. Indeed, He was
without spot and blemish.
On the morning of the 14th at the third hour (9:00 a.m.), the lamb in the
temple was bound to the alter (Psa.118:27). At the same time outside the
city walls, YaHshua was both tied and nailed to the tree (Mark 15:25). For
six hours both the lamb and YaHshua awaited death. At the ninth hour (3:00
p.m., now the 15th), the High Priest ascended the altar in the Temple, took
his knife, and killed the lamb,
pronouncing the words, "It is finished." This is the term that the priest
in the Temple would say with the conclusion of the daily peace offering as
well as the various special festival offerings.
At exactly the same moment, YaHshua on the cross, gave up His Spirit with
the same words (it is finished) and died (John 19:30). The death of
YaHshua, occurring simultaneously with that of the lamb in the Temple, was
no accident. The slaying of the Passover lamb was a rehearsal of the
sacrifice of the MessYah. The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the believers
in Corinth, referred to the MessYaH as the Passover.
"For even MessYaH, our Passover (Lamb), is sacrificed for us."
     (I Cor. 5:7)
I hope this clarifies the dual lamb concept for you.
JH> It was precisely at 9 a.m. To say that it was between 6-9 a.m. would
JH> allow 3 hours of play. The third hour was the third hour, and not a
 JH> time span. Right? Right.
CH> Heaven's no, for the third hour started at exactly one second
  > after the third hour and "an hour" runs exactly 60 minutes or
  > 3,600 seconds and it was indeed between the third hour and the
  > ninth hour, but it was STILL a span of time of 60 minutes or
  > 3,600 seconds and could have been any time during that period or
  > span of time, correct?
Agreed. The third hour, fore instance, would include that whole hour, but
not 3 hours. However, in Scripture, the words "about" and "at" are used.
Meaning, the hour was "about" to begin, or, it was just "at" that hour, but
not past, or within. It is important to understand that the Passover lamb
was killed with one decisive blow, at 3:00 p.m. Therefore, since Passover
was a "Moed" or, (in Hebrew), an appointed or set time. This appointment
was to be met by Yahshua, exactly, and was met. It was not an "in the ball
park" meeting. YaHshua met His appointments parallel to His pre-appointed,
and commanded times.
CH> As for saying that the third hour was
  > between 6am to 9am, this is only a figure of speech of the
  > Hebrew reckoning of time which was divided into three hour
  > increments in any 12 hour period of night or day, were they not?
Actually, to be totally accurate, 0 hour was 6 a.m; the 1st hour was  7 a.m;
the 2nd hour was 8 a.m.; the 3rd hour was 9 a.m.; etc. This continued to
the 12 th hour, which is 6 p.m., the end of the Day and Night periods of a
24 hour day. We read:
"YaHshua answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any
man walk in the day (daylight), he stumbleth not, because he seeth
the light of "this" world (the sun)." (John 11:9.)
CH> The sixth hour can be midnight or twelve noon in Hebrew, which is
  > clearly proved by Joh 19:14, was it not? The time which you are
  > using is man's doctrine of the reckoning of time, correct? And
  > even in man's reckoning of time, one second after 12 noon is
  > referred to as the "afternoon" period of the day and "quitting"
  > time is normally at 5pm and evening begins at 6pm, correct?
The sixth hour mentioned in John 19:14, was the sixth hour of
"Morning". Morning is a time stressed by scripture as as beginning at 1
a.m. and ending at 12 noon. The sixth hour of"Day or Daylight," as denoted
int he crucifixion, was Noon. The sixth hour of "Evening" was 6 p.m. The
sixth hour of the "Night" was Midnight. Remember:
EVENING Began past 12 noon, the beginning of a time which would be
divided in to the Minor and Major evenings. Noon, itself
         being "even".
MORNING Began past Midnight and continued until Noon.
DAY Was a 24 hour period of time; also, sunrise to sunset.
         1. A 24 hour period of time starting at 12 o'clock noon
and ending at 12 o'clock noon the following day.
         2. The daylight portion of a 24 hour period of time starting
at sunrise and ending at sunset.
NIGHT Was sunset to sunrise. The dark portion of a 24 hour period
of time starting at sunset and ending at sunrise.
The time, as described here, is not based on man's or secular
calculations. These were from old. However, these times were changed and
adapted by thrones and governments, including the Pharasitical Jews of
YaHshua's day, to conform to political and economic needs. According to all
the Wisdom of Scripture (YaHVaH's), these periods are met and are in harmony
with Creation. All things concerning His Sabbath, work out perfectly in
light of His appointed times.
