I don't know if a Barcus-Berry is similar to those Fishman piezoelectric
pickups for acoustics. Piezo devices work backwards than a crystal--a
crystal turns voltage into a varying frequency and a piezo pickup turns
vibrations from the bridge or body into varying voltage. Was the B-B
pickup on the cone itself or on the cover plate?
LS>how great is the danger of ruining at least the chrome?
Without knowing how he mounted the humbucker, I don't know how much you
might damage the chrome. What about just using a microphone on a stand?
