Recently Hyerdahl ended a long thread concerning women in science by
spewing out a series of quotes from women who had felt less than
sufficiently welcomed at VMI and MIT, etc. Leaving aside the question
whether or not any of it is very true, the biggest, most obvious fact
that rears up is that these women never really wanted much to succeed
in the first place.
   In guy-land, where guys live, no one wants to be the one to start to
cry and run to a parent-figure whineing that the other guys play too
rough and did not give you everything you wanted right away. That would
be crap. No. Guys learn early that if you want something, you generally
have to be willing to fight for it. And it is better - far better- to
fight and lose than whine and cry to daddy/mommy for help.
   Every group of immigrants to this country faced some sort of "fuck
you". Most of them figured a way to force themselves past it. The Irish
and Italians were not exactly welcomed into WASP society in the early
20th century but they organized, smashed heads when necessary and
before long were doing just fine in the land of the free.
   Jews were not the least bit welcomed or accepted on Wall Street back
in the day. So they formed up their own firms (Solomon Brs., Goldman
Sachs, etc) and fucking did it on their own.
   Japanese-American men were treated with near total disdain in WW2
America. So they demanded a chance and when they got it (the 442
RCT)they fought with exemplary ferocity all across the ETO. Huge
causalities, lots of medals, argument over.
   The examples could go on forever. But whenever someone says, " I
could have done it except they were mean to me!!!" they are really
saying that they are looking only for an excuse to go home. Because no
one has ever gotten anywhere without ignoring all sorts of
discouragement and disapproval.
   Everytime a woman sues a company for gender discrimination she is
actually announcing to the world that she was never serious about it
all in the first place. Without much doubt, her career is toast
thereafter. So she is burning bridges because she cares not for the
business she is in. And second, if someone is really serious about
doing something, the way guys are serious, a big part of the pleasure
of winning is doing it without getting help from mommy/daddy.
   Feminists are so terminally spoiled and out-of-touch.
