I'd have to see your dialing loop to know for sure, but you should clear 
out the WHEN's at the bottom of the loop by using a WHEN on the line all by 
itself, then re-initialize your WHEN's at the top of the loop.  Is this for 
Qmodem/DOS?  If so I have a script that does what you want and can dial any 
number of attempts you tell it without errors...I'll post it if you say so.
