Some internet newsgroups are well moderated and have very high signal to 
noise 
ratios.  I'm also a gun nut and rec.guns is about the largest group on the 
net and 
also extremely well moderated by one very dedicated guy.
I don't see any reason why this conference wouldn't work just as well on the 
net 
except for problem of people emailing each other rather than posting to the 
group.
If we wait too long there may be NO bbses carrying fidonet.
