Oh indeed. I've just done a switch for a j2ee thing for the nhs from
sqlserver to mysql/innodb (needed transactions). Both db'es are on windows
(it's not a massive app (a vocab server)) but it was the portability which
was a required feature.
To me so long as it's sql92 & solid......then shrug.
