I'm probably getting the timeline wrong, but didn't MS make some kind of
equity investment in Apple and announce the availability of Office on Mac
around the height of their anti-trust problems? I seem to recall
speculation that these moves were made to preserve (the illusion of)
competition in the desktop OS and office suite market segments.
