   The U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-C, was first (and last) seen in the
3rd season TNG episode "Yesterday's Entperise," in which that very ship
emerged from a temporal rift, having travelled 22 years into the future
(to TNG's time) and altering the "known" timeline in the process.
   I happen to question the scientific validitiy of such a disruption,
preferring instead to think that the story merely shifted to the
"altered" timeline rather than the timeline actually being altered at
that point, but none the less it was an excellent ep.  Oh well...
... If you can read this, my cloaking device is on the fritz.
