If I'm counting this right, couldn't you input the cable to the VCR first,
and from there via cable to the tv and 3-rca-thingy to the dvd? I've got a
similar mess of old equipment, where my vhs and dvd are connected by a
scart cable, so the dvd output goes through the vhs to the tv.
