| subject: | WikiLeaks & U.S. Government Hypocrisy |
JS> The following news article really, really irked me;
JS> particularly the U.S. Government's hypocritical response in
JS> the third to the last paragraph.
JS> I don't know how many of you are familiar with the very
JS> controversial WikiLeaks website. As the news article below
JS> states, WikiLeaks is a whistle-blower website which began
...
JS> thousands of field reports from Afghanistan -- which have
JS> been verified as being authentic -- which reveal that the
JS> war in Afghanistan is not going nearly as well as the U.S.
JS> Governmentn purports.
...
JS> As I have said before, if there is one thing that the war
JS> in Afghanistan is showing, it is that contrary to his
JS> pre-election rhetoric, Barack Hussein Obama is every bit as
JS> much a warmonger as George W. Bush. Obama is a
JS> smooth-talking serpent with a college degree and a slippery
JS> tongue, and he totally suckered America.
No, he is not. He is not near that smooth or subtle. In this
case, Obama has been suckered. He is not near the street smart
operator nor the Chicago power politician he is painted. He is
much too much the inclusive compromiser.
The only good thing is, not one person opposing him in the
election was a better choice. Not even close.
Which is also a bad thing.
...
JS> the war in Afghanistan: "It's worth noting that WikiLeaks
JS> is not an objective news outlet but rather an organization
JS> that opposes U.S. policy in Afghanistan" was the advice to
...
JS> vetted to remove the names of military sources. Adm. Mike
JS> Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at the
JS> same news conference that WikiLeaks "might already have on
JS> their hands the blood of some young soldier or that of an
JS> Afghan family."
JS> In response on Friday, Mr. Assange was returning to a more
JS> combative tone.
JS> "The grounds of Iraq and Afghanistan are covered with real
JS> blood," he told CNN, adding, "Secretary Gates has overseen
JS> the killings of thousands of children and adults in these
JS> two countries."
