Makes a huge difference on AIX's JFS file system, don't know about SQL
server on NTFS as I've never let it get real un-optimized, I usually
schedule db maintenance to run each night or every other night. On AIX
though it's a lot of work to optimize so I let it go for well over a year
most of the time.
