>>> Dennis Menard on Ethics
DM> The evidence seems to indicate the frame was opportunistic; maybe that
DM> is why it is so sloppy and obvious; though he (ie, Abu-Jamal) was being
DM> watched by the police because of his association; the Philly police
DM> have never been able to explain how the .44 slug found in the slain
DM> officer's brain was able to come from Mumia's .38 ... Mumia was shot
DM> at the scene by a police bullet ... The bullet entered his body from
DM> above, passed down through a lung, into his abdomen; awaking from
DM> surgery, found himself handcuffed to the bed.

DM> Well, I certainly disagree with the tree-spiking tactic. But, all
DM> things considered, it is really little worse than some of the tactics
DM> used against protestors by industry and industry supporters.
The worse being to close the courts to logging cases while allowing the
forest service illegal sales. But this is regular fair, to be stronger and
to not allow peaceful or legal resolution. Hence riots, terriorism, etc.
Alas, possible victims of spiking are loggers and mill workers, and not any
money making culprits.
