| subject: | 1 4 Geo R wrt Vista & DRM |
From: Ad http://computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9 005047&intsrc=hm_ts_head Fairly compendious. One has to agree wrt one of the central themes which is who does it benefit....not the consumer.... Ditto all the new DRM laden stuff like HD-DVD, Blueray etc. etc. As Geo has pointed out....a std DVD can hold a HD film if said film is encoded with a modern codec. Also I am underwhelmed by the write speed of the current crop of Blueray etc writers. 1-5x translates as how long to fill a disk? I think I'll back up my blue-ray disk...gee I'll leave it running overnight....
