Almost sounds to me like you attempted to change your already existing squish
message bases to jam?
I don't believe you can do that.
You would have to delete all your message base files and start over with empty
areas.
It will work with newly created areas, but as soon as it tries to read your old
squish message bases as jam bad things will happen.
