Since I didn't give a computer with Vista it is moot. If I had there =
is no problem either as the transfers that matter are between computers. =
Giving a whole computer with the licenses already associated is fine.

Core 2 =3D=3D Core 2 Duo. There is also a Core Duo. The latter is a =
mobile processor only. The former has mobile, desktop, and server =
variants though the server ones don't use the Core brand or at least I =
don't think so. The Core 2 is fast.

How does that work with activation? If you activated it can you give =
it to someone else and have the license transfer to them? (I really = don't
know, just asking in general not your specific example)

Core 2, that's the same as a duo cpu? I've got that as my desktop at =
work, seems pretty nice as I've not noticed the machine lag at all. Runs =
W2K real fast, needs solid state drives though, drives are still a =
bottleneck, even fast ones.

It would be but I didn't. It was a Dell system sold with Windows =
XP. I installed Vista for my own use. When I gave it away I = reinstalled
the Dell provided Windows XP.

I don't want two partitions. The BIOS limit is a nuisance and =
why I got the other system when I did. I wanted a Core 2 processor and =
didn't think I could wait. It turns out I could which is why I gave = that
one away and expect to get a Core 2 based system in the future.
