That brings up a pain point I've had -- the crappiness of proprietary in-dash
systems. I have a 2014 Prius, and the display looks and feels dated now.
Updates are yearly at best. 

I've seen people fit 7 inch Android tablets into the space without a lot of
effort, I'm tempted to do so.
