subject: GEOS CLOCK

AP>The final "clock fix" suggested by GWREP Steve was to use a patch for
AP>the Geos kernel that prevents just Geos from writing to the clock. As
AP>he put it, "[T]his is the most elegant solution, though keep in mind
AP>that thereafter you can no longer use Geos' Preferences to change
AP>the clock." Although he credited this patch to Marcus Groeber in his
AP>original message, he followed it up with this correction message
AP>later in my packet: "In a previous post, I said that Marcus Groeber
AP>had developed a patch to the Geos kernel to prevent it from writing
AP>to the hardware clock. I was wrong. The patch was authored by James
AP>A Zuan. I apologize, James. The filename, on AOL, is CLKPATCH.ZIP."

Hi Anne..........

I'm definately interested in this patch - I used to run geos and my bbs
on the same computer, under windows...so obviously i couldn't have
geos's errors messing with the time clock on the bbs.....[callers loved
it though before i figured out what was going on...time never went
anywhere......people had like hours and hours on my bbs...]]

however, i'm not on AOL. Any way I can get it elsewhere?

thanks,
                                                        Jay Fuller
