Actually YOU were right on the spelling. It is* Copernicus. But it WAS Galileo that invented the astronomical telescope, in 1609. He also discovered pendulum motion (1581), which Huygens used to invent the pendulum clock in 1656. The reflecting telescope was invented in 1668 by Isaac Newton. DC>> ... Are you sure he used a telescope rather than a microscope, though? There were* microscopes around then, the compound microscope invented in 1590 by Jannsen, and the double convex microscope in 1611 by Kepler.
