Often it seems that at application level, programmers are pretty clueless
as to how databases work. "Indexing? We don't need no steenkin'
indexing, we just pull the data and handle it in our application - sort it
there and then process only what we're interested in. Whaddya mean what
happens when there is three gigabytes of data and users behind 512 k
adsl?"
