I was playing with Slackware back on release 2.0. Back when you had to make
the install floppies (3 of them) and hope and pray your CD drive was
covered. I had a headless Slack box up and running (Pentium Pro) for almost
a year without rebooting on our network back when I was doing tech support
on my friend's ISP. We used to send mail back and forth across the network
through it and pull a usenet feed on it. We also used it for playing with
apache.

Since then, I've run about a dozen different distros before finding Ubuntu
and then Mint.

True. There are some differences between distros as far as where the
developers put things, but they all come with the same stuff.
