I think you're misunderstanding what I'm saying. My/Illich's system
won't abolish new discoveries in science and medicine. We won't
stagnate as a culture. in fact, intellectually we will flourish
more than now.

So how many third-world countries' citizens are starving because hundreds
of thousands of dollars were instead spent to develop the technology to
