That's pretty good. It's about triple what I get with my Canadian DSL
provider over copper. Although quite honestly I'm surprised with a fiber
link the rates aren't higher, since you can almost achieve that rate with
copper.

 (Unfortunately my cottage north or Toronto has no DSL access so I'm stuck
with 28.8 dial-up or satellite).

Anybody offhand know the bit rate on a 1080p HDMI (including multi-channel
audio) signal? It seems to me that's the minimum download rate
"needed" to make HD silver disks go away.
