I think that above all, the most important characteristic of any new
Catweasel is driver support.  I had a Catweasel IV (I think) for a few
years and sold it because the driver support in Linux is so crappy.

There are similar projects such as Disc-Ferret and Kryoflux which
perport to do similar things.  They connect to the USB port and
therefore are ideal for intermittent use.  The Kryoflux is probably the
most mature and easily available.
