When I first wrote novels, I found that it was easier to write bad
novels than it was to write good ones. After time, I found it became
harder to write bad novels than it did to write good ones. How so? Bad
writing takes more work to fix into something tolerable, so I try to
get it right on the first or second draft, because I am basically a
lazy son-of-a-bitch, and grow lazier with age.
