No one doubts that most women have the type of brain that is very
well behaved - that it notices and pays attention to exactly what its
owner wants to think about - but no more. And that is the catch. Real
innovation, real originality, requires the intrusion of an idea into
consciousness that one has not been taught - that has never been
taught. This is an inherently messy process. Really creative people are
often "absent minded". That is because they have things occurring in
their thoughts beyond the fine detail of some busy-work project that
certain other kinds of people are so happy to do.
"Learning" science is hardly the same thing as breaking the trail.
