m> Among my favorite Linux (actually KDE) screen savers is the analog
m> clock. Indeed, I have given more than just a passing thought to
m> installing Linux and KDE on an old laptop, syncing up the time with

m> thought of putting the laptop display in a nice wooden clock case,

I saw a project some time back where a fellow put a picture frame around
a color LCD display, and used the guts of a laptop mounted on the back
to drive it. He had it set up with several high resolution JPGs that were
displayed like a slide show. Hung it on the wall just like an ordinary
picture. First time guests would at first be confused by the changing
pictures if they weren't aware of it.
