Hello all,
Well its getting that time where school is suddently approching.  I couldn't
afford the things I wanted this year for school so I settled for a book
that teaches all the curriculum in one book.  This is just so I can start
school.  This will be my first year and the children want it to be more
like a school.  I can see their point.  Their alittle afraid of leaving
that behind for something uncertain.  They insisted on notebooks and such
so they went out and bought them.  My husband bought a world and states
map to hang on the wall.  My mother usually buys them things for school
so I guess I will ask for some of the better things from her.  I have
a grease maker board I will also use.  I think as things progress they
will get more comfortable and become unschooled, but at this point they
are insisting it be a little formal.  They seem to be ready to start
though as my oldest wanted to start Aug. 4.  I am not ready though.  I
need to look things over and wash a wall for the pictures.
This new law in Michigan is going to make things a little tough.  It states
we must teach Math, English (grammar), Science, Writing, Reading S.S (us
history and stuff).  It also states parents may teach at home in an orgainize
manner according to age, intelligence, pschological, and at this moment I
can't remember the rest.  It is really general.  It is leaving too much
up to the districts.  I am hoping that this new law does not get us all
in trouble as school districts loose money when a student isn't there.
Well doesn't matter since I am doing it for religious reasons.  Hope ya
all are doing well!!!
