It's easily balanced out by those who buy a machine that comes with windows
and then wipe it and install linux.

There is no money to be made by fighting this sort of piracy, it's a joke.
Make it impossible and you just promote the competition, nobody is going to
spend $250 for an OS to make $100 worth of old hardware run even slower
than before.
