From: "Frank Haber" >1 bar on the cel network right now. They still have AMPS service in your nabe? It's just now going dark around here, sometimes a bit in advance of the announced schedule. A shame, it was secretly useful from a boat here (on LI sound, etc.). There was often an old 6W bag phone aboard, and you could talk for miles and miles on one tower over the water. Mind the roaming fees, though. I wonder whether the old 150MHz private mobile service still works. A friend in AZ was using it in the boonies as recently as 7-8 years ago. Adam just doesn't realize the truth about our cave. But we have *competition* in our cave. Anarchy, too. That other Adam would be proud. And NO ONE I know over 30 is happy with the functionality, menu structure, service level, TS nonsense, lying/cheating billing practices, bundling, contracts, stupid no-travel buttons, (....I give up) of most cell phones. --I lied.
