No extra software needed for Windows to run FTP. In File Explorer just
type the FTP address for example:
ftp://192.168.1.1:2121/
and run e.g. File Manager HD on your phone. I use this all the time to
transfer data from my PC to my phone. I expect it would also work for a
Raspberry Pi but I've not had occasion to try that.
