Ok so this I know is a bogus test. Who here does one thing at a time
anymore? Who here even gives pre-emptive multitasking a second thought
anymore?

That 1984 mac didn't have to have email running while you were doing 10
different other things and at the same time be linked to a dozen other
computers around the world. You didn't have email, you didn't have IM, you
didn't use a computer at all for communications, or monitoring, or security
cameras, or news or any of a hundred other things that are all done with
this one device today.
